Emerging HR Professional | Turning Policy into Performance | Supporting Growth
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my professional portfolio. I’m an emerging Human Resources professional nearing completion of my HR Management program, with a strong foundation in performance systems, business ethics, and labor relations.
This site was created to highlight my skills, showcase applied academic projects, and support my search for a work term placement. I bring several years of leadership experience in retail and customer operations, combined with formal training in HR focused problem solving, compliance, and policy development.
The About Me section shares a bit more about who I am outside the classroom. It introduces my values, interests, and what led me toward Human Resources.
I am a Human Resources student originally from Texas and currently completing my HR Management program through the College of the North Atlantic. I began my studies in Newfoundland and later continued part time while working in Houston. This path has given me both academic training and real world leadership experience that I carry into my work.
My interest in HR developed while working directly with frontline teams. I saw how policy, scheduling, and workplace systems could shape the employee experience. That motivated me to pursue HR as a way to create structure, fairness, and support in the workplace.
I bring a mix of retail leadership, team management, and formal training in labor relations, performance systems, and ethics. I care about clear expectations, fair treatment, and practical results.
Outside of academics, I stay active in my community, enjoy traveling, and explore creative hobbies. These experiences influence how I approach problem solving, teamwork, and communication. Each subpage gives a closer look at those parts of my life and how they connect to my professional goals.
I’m someone who values strong communication, fairness, and continuous improvement. I approach challenges with a calm, analytical mindset and enjoy helping teams work more effectively through structure and support. My experience in customer-facing and leadership roles has given me a deep appreciation for the everyday realities people face at work.
I take pride in being dependable, easy to talk to, and driven by purpose. I enjoy learning new systems, building tools that actually help people, and making complex tasks feel simple. Whether I’m improving a workflow or supporting a team member, I focus on clarity, consistency, and respectful collaboration.
Inside, you’ll find real case analysis, sample HR tools I’ve built, and a growing collection of insights designed to show how I turn HR theory into practical value. Whether you’re reviewing for a work placement, collaboration, or future employment, I invite you to explore.
From real-world case studies to workplace tools, the next section features academic examples that highlight what I’ve learned and how I apply it in practice.
My resume reflects a combination of real-world experience and applied learning. I’ve taken on leadership responsibilities, supported teams through high-volume operations, and worked directly with customers in both retail and e-commerce settings. These roles helped me build skills in communication, planning, and service excellence, all of which I continue to develop through my HR studies.
In addition to my work history, I’ve completed academic projects focused on labor relations, workplace policy, and performance systems. I’m currently finishing my HR Management program and actively applying classroom knowledge to my day-to-day work. When clicking the link, you’ll find a breakdown of key roles and milestones that show where I’ve been, what I’ve contributed, and how I’m preparing for the next step.
I’m currently seeking a work term placement that supports both my academic development and long-term HR career goals. I’m eager to contribute in a role where I can apply my skills and bring value to a team while continuing to grow in areas like policy implementation, employee relations, training development, and the use of HR systems and tools.
Whether part-time or full-time, I’m open to opportunities that offer hands-on experience in real workplace settings—remote, in-person, or hybrid. I thrive in environments that prioritize collaboration, strong communication, and a people-first mindset. I’m especially drawn to workplaces where ethical leadership, fairness, and continuous improvement are part of the culture.
Ultimately, I’m looking for more than just a placement—I want to be part of a team that cares about getting things right for employees and understands the strategic value of HR in driving success.
